Hello all!
On May 1st, we will be moderating an online group within Yahoo Groups. When you enter "Puyallup Brain Injury" into the search groups section, you will find our group. It is open for survivors, caregivers, friends, family and anyone interested in brain injury. We would like to invite people to join and post information that they have found beneficial in their journey.
We are excited about this new group and look forward to seeing you there.

Also, Penny Condell who facilitates the group in Tacoma at TACID is going to be facilitating the group at Good Samaritan Hospital. It will still meet the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month. She is awesome and inspiring.

Sheri

New year, new beginings

Sometimes in life, we find that we need to change what we are doing. Not because it's not working, but because it's time to try something new. In June, Ed and I will no longer be facilitating the group at the hospital. Instead, I have signed on as a voluteer with the hospital and will be working in the rehabilitation center with the families of new survivors. I hope to help families as they transition from hospital to home. I feel that the high divorce rate is related to lack of education for the families of brain injury survivors. There are so many changes that happen and without education, families can get lost, become frustrated and just walk away. My hope is that I can help even one family, it would make me happy to know that I have helped someone along their journey.
The support group will go on. It's well established and full of great people. We will be there off and on after June, but we want to concentrate on the new survivors and their families. We will continue our on-line support through facebook and yahoo.
Peace to all,
Sheri Van V.

Howdy!
This month is our picnic with the Comeback Club. For those of you who don't know, the CC is a social group for people with disabilities - mostly people living with brain injuries. They meet every Monday night from 6-7:30 at the Puyallup Activity Center in downtown Puyallup except for the 3rd Mondays of the month when they meet at the South Hill Mall for dinner and shopping. It's a fun group and many of the people who attend our support group also attend the Comeback Club.
We're just one happy family!
If you'd like information on the picnic or support group, please email PuyallupTBIGroup@yahoo.com or call 253-841-9635.
Thanks,
Sheri ;-)
